Used this company having come across them on YouTube (where they were fixing a car with the exact same issues ours was facing). … More My very basic home diagnostic machine wasn’t picking up the error codes, but a quick call to the company put my mind at ease that it was the airbag ecu causing the issue. They advised they would bench test it with their equipment, fix and return. My local garage was sceptical (they assume a new unit for £400-£600), but these guys and gals worked their magic and I reinstalled the original unit a week after being removed (thanks Fiat for making those bolts so easy to reach 😬).
The car immediately recognised the ecu brain, all errors had gone and the car is back to normal (I didn’t need to reprogram the ecu to the car luckily).
Would therefore recommend the company to anyone with this ecu airbag issue. Great service.

Removed from running vehicle and dry stored - Good working order

This ECU has been re-programmed to being 'Immo off' (Immobilizer removed / free running) and will work when it is fitted & plugged in to your car with no further programming of keys etc necessary - it will start & run as normal even if there is no transponder chip fitted inside the key (Plug & play). If you would prefer you immobilizer data programmed to this ecu or for any reason it will not work you can send it back with your original unit for bench programming (Data transfer) at no extra cost!

1 . Scan the vehicle with a diagnostic scanner & record fault codes – rectify any faults recorded here first & check the wiring for faults

If your ECU has ‘No communication’

2 – If your ECU has ‘No communication’ with a diagnostic scanner it is essential that you check relevant fuses and consult a wiring diagram for your vehicle and verify the power supply & test the wiring to your ECU – particularly test power supply relays (Engine control relay). – ECU’s returned due to misdiagnosis are subject to a 20% restocking charge

If you are not a qualified / experienced auto electrician or garage technician and you are unsure if the problem with your car is the ECU then please consult one first before ordering – there is a 20% restocking charge for returns due to misdiagnosis

If your fault is a cylinder misfire

If your fault is a cylinder misfire please check spark plugs / leads / coil / injectors and wiring faults / headgasket faults etc before ordering, if these have been checked or replaced then it is important to check inlet manifolds for leaks, engine compression & perform a vacuum gauge test to check for valve problems.
