Used this company having come across them on YouTube (where they were fixing a car with the exact same issues ours was facing). … More My very basic home diagnostic machine wasn’t picking up the error codes, but a quick call to the company put my mind at ease that it was the airbag ecu causing the issue. They advised they would bench test it with their equipment, fix and return. My local garage was sceptical (they assume a new unit for £400-£600), but these guys and gals worked their magic and I reinstalled the original unit a week after being removed (thanks Fiat for making those bolts so easy to reach 😬).
The car immediately recognised the ecu brain, all errors had gone and the car is back to normal (I didn’t need to reprogram the ecu to the car luckily).
Would therefore recommend the company to anyone with this ecu airbag issue. Great service.

This ECU is supplied 'Virginized' (Reset to an 'As new' / Virgin) state and will self code to your immobilizer system when it is plugged in with no further programming of keys etc necessary. Your vehicle mileage will be unaffected & display as it should. Your central locking will still work on your remote controls etc. Full installation instructions included.. If for any reason it will not self code you can send it back with your original unit for bench programming (Data transfer) at no extra cost!

1 . Scan the vehicle with a diagnostic scanner & record fault codes – rectify any faults recorded here first & check the wiring for faults

If your ECU has ‘No communication’

2 – If your ECU has ‘No communication’ with a diagnostic scanner it is essential that you check relevant fuses and consult a wiring diagram for your vehicle and verify the power supply & test the wiring to your ECU – particularly test power supply relays (Engine control relay). – ECU’s returned due to misdiagnosis are subject to a 20% restocking charge

If your fault is a cylinder misfire

If your fault is a cylinder misfire please check spark plugs / leads / coil / injectors and wiring faults / headgasket faults etc before ordering, if these have been checked or replaced then it is important to check inlet manifolds for leaks, engine compression & perform a vacuum gauge test to check for valve problems.
