Mercedes Airbag ECU A1718203626 Crash data reset / Cloning / VIN programming / No comms repair service

• The ‘Crash data reset service‘ service option above is required when a vehicle has been involved in a collision and your airbags or seat belt pre-tensioners have been deployed – In many cases this can be used to remove an ‘Internal control module error’ fault code. This is NOT a repair service for an airbag module that has hardware faults or has ‘No communications’ with the vehicle systems or diagnostic tools. Crash data on an airbag module is logged in the fault memory of the airbag ECU and will cause the ‘Airbag warning light’ to be illuminated, these faults cannot be removed using diagnostic tools. We can reset Airbag module Crash Data from almost all makes and models when usually the manufacturer or dealership would advise replacing the module with a new unit saving you large amounts of money!
• The ‘Cloning service only‘ option above is if you have a faulty airbag ECU (Electronic Control Unit) on your vehicle, for example it may be water damaged or have a blown component quite often ‘No communication’ with the vehicles electronic system & diagnostic tools. If you are looking to replace the ECU you may be aware that in many cases you cannot simply remove an ECU from another vehicle & install it onto yours as the ECU is ‘Coded’ or ‘Locked’ to a different vehicles electronic / immobilizer system. We have the solution! Simply send us your original (Faulty) ECU & the donor (Replacement) unit & we will transfer the data from your original to the replacement enabling the used unit to work on your vehicle with no further programming necessary. Once the donor unit has been programmed (Cloned) your vehicle will then have the airbag system working correctly again, the coding of the unit will be correct & the airbag warning light will function as it should.
• The ‘VIN Number programming‘option above is for when a second hand module is to be fitted and the original unit is missing or unreadable and therefore cannot be cloned. We will need you to supply your VIN number with your order so we can program it to the replacement unit.

• The ‘No Comms fix‘ option above is for when you have an airbag ECU which has failed & does not communicate with diagnostic tools. This is a common fault with this particular part number unit, where the software becomes corrupt leading to not having communication with the airbag ECU with diagnostic tools & no communication with other electronic modules on the vehicle. The usual symptoms are that the airbag light is illuminated. There is often other fault codes in the vehicles other systems such as the instrument cluster displaying codes of ‘No communication with Airbag ECU’. To rectify this fault permanently simply send us your faulty Airbag ECU & we will re-flash the corrupted software. Once the unit has been returned to you it will simply plug in & work with no further programming necessary (You may need to clear fault codes after refitting with a diagnostic tool)
