Vauxhall Opel HSFI-2.1 / HSFI-2.4 / HSFI-2.5 PIN Retrieval / Reset / Map transfer service
This listing is NOT to supply an ECU module - This is a Reset / PIN code retrieval service!
- The 'PIN code retrieval' (Security pass details) option above is to be used when programming functions need to be performed such as key programming or programming a secondhand ECU which needs to be 'Reset' & programmed to a vehicle via diagnostic tools & the immobilizer security PIN code of the unit is unavailable / lost. For example if a secondhand unit has been sourced from a breakers yard without its PIN number & the original ECU is missing / unreadable so it cannot be cloned this will then enable programming functions to be performed.
- The 'Reset immobilizer service' option above is to perform an immobilizer reset operation on a used ECU so that the unit can be fitted to a vehicle and programmed to the immobilizer using diagnostic tools - This is often known as 'Tech2 reset'
- The ‘Map transfer service‘ option is for transferring the software version from one ECU to another – we CANNOT transfer immobilizer files / fully clone this type of ECU. This service can be used to convert for example an 8 valve Z16SE (DNHM) engine type ECU into a 16 valve Z16XE (DXMJ) engine type ECU before or after it has been programmed to a car. It is essential that both ECU’s are of the same type. All HSFI-2.1 ECU’s are compatible with each other and so are all HSFI-2.5 ECU’s but the 2 units must be either both HSFI-2.1 or both HSFI-2.5 – You cannot convert an HSFI-2.1 (Astra / Zafira) into an HSFI-2.5 (Corsa / Meriva)! – This service can also be used when an ECU has been fitted+programmed to a car but there is a software mismatch such as EGR valve delete has been performed on the previous ECU+not on the replacement. You will need to supply us the original ECU+the donor ECU for the map transfer service, they must both have communication with diagnostic tools to perform this operation – If you do not have the original ECU or your original ECU does not have communication with diagnostic tools then contact us as we have many map files stored on our database.

1 . Scan the vehicle with a diagnostic scanner & record fault codes – rectify any faults recorded here first & check the wiring for faults
2 – If your ECU has ‘No communication’ with a diagnostic scanner it is essential that you check relevant fuses and consult a wiring diagram for your vehicle and verify the power supply & test the wiring to your ECU – particularly test power supply relays (Engine control relay). – ECU’s returned due to misdiagnosis are subject to a 20% restocking charge
If you are not a qualified / experienced auto electrician or garage technician and you are unsure if the problem with your car is the ECU then please consult one first before ordering – there is a 20% restocking charge for returns due to misdiagnosis
If your fault is a cylinder misfire please check spark plugs / leads / coil / injectors and wiring faults / headgasket faults etc before ordering, if these have been checked or replaced then it is important to check inlet manifolds for leaks, engine compression & perform a vacuum gauge test to check for valve problems.
