They carried out the required research into the unit, repaired it and though this was a lot more work from them the repair was carried out at the original quoted price. I had my Mercedes A200 air bag ECU cloned after the original ECU was giving out random faults.
I needed the VIN to be transferred to the donor
ECU after coding, dealer level coding.
ECUs were returned with a full report.
After reinstalling the donor ECU fault codes were cleared and I didn’t have a problem with the VIN number fault.
Mercedes dealer wanted double the cost if not more with coding for the replacement ECU and were not particularly helpful with any of my questions.
